Our story

A one-stop Subaru shop, built around the boxer engine.

ER Subaru Engines exists for one reason: Subaru owners in Colorado deserve a shop that knows their car as well as they do. With over 20 years of engine building experience behind every rebuild, we've made boxer engines — EJ, FA20, FA/FB — the entire business, not a sideline between brake jobs on other brands.

That focus shows up in practical ways. We keep short and long blocks built and on the shelf, so a blown engine doesn't mean your car sits on a lift for months. We post real prices with named parts — Manley, King, STI, Darton — so you know exactly what's going into your case halves before you commit.

And whether you're here for a $165 diagnostic or a 1000WHP Darton-sleeved Stage 4 build, the promise is the same: we offer the highest quality customer service and treat your Subaru as if it were our own.

We're not the cheapest Subaru shop in Colorado — we're the one that posts real prices, uses named parts, and builds it right the first time.

The shop is active in Subaru motorsport, and that's not a marketing line — it's our R&D program. The same hands that assemble your short block spend race weekends finding out exactly what these engines can take.

  • Drift team at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Our cars run at PPIR events, including the Slush Motorsport Festival.
  • Track, time attack & show builds. We build competition and show cars alongside customer rebuilds and upgrades.
  • Lessons flow back to your car. What survives track abuse becomes the standard for every customer engine we assemble.

From daily-driven Foresters to 1000WHP time attack builds — and even the odd Subaru-swapped VW Vanagon — this is the work that fills our bays.

Engine Rebuilds

Stock and built rebuilds across the EJ, FA20, FA/FB and FB25 families, with short and long blocks on the shelf to get you back on the road quickly.

Built Short Blocks

Stage 1 through Stage 4 — 500 to 1000WHP ratings — including closed deck and Darton sleeved builds with copper O-ring machining.

Performance & Tuning

Turbo upgrades and custom twin-scroll setups, exhaust, fuel, intake and cooling — then tuning from $630 to tie it all together.

Custom Builds & Installs

Drift, track, time attack and show car builds, engine swaps (including an LS-swapped Legacy), and AccuAir/D2 air suspension installs.
